Equipment

  • Blender or Juicer
  • Fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Measuring cups

Ingredients

  • 1 large ginger root peeled and chopped
  • 2 apples cored and chopped
  • 3 carrots peeled and chopped
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp honey optional, for added sweetness

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and chop the ginger root, core and chop the apples, and peel and chop the carrots. Juice the lemon.
  • Blend or Juice: If using a blender, add the ginger, apples, carrots, lemon juice, and water. Blend on high until smooth. If using a juicer, process the ginger, apples, and carrots according to the manufacturer's instructions, then mix in the lemon juice.
  • Strain the Juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl or jug to remove the pulp. Use a spoon to press down on the pulp to extract as much juice as possible.
  • Sweeten (Optional): If you prefer a sweeter juice, stir in the honey until dissolved.
  • Serve: Pour the freshly extracted juice into glasses and enjoy immediately for the best taste and nutritional benefits.

Pro Tip
No need to peel the ginger if you're using a juicer or high-speed blender with a strainer. The skin contains additional beneficial compounds. Use a lime instead of lemon for a brighter, more tropical flavor.
